MDS,

There is a lot of variation in outline - what are your thoughts on what works best for you? What sort of waves are they made for?

Is there the same variation in bottoms and rails, or do you stick with a basic design?

Bob,
Sorry to take so long to get back. Haven't been on here. First off, I'm a garage builder. No training here just effort. So what I have been doing is making all kinds of shapes and volumes and then taking them out with friends to see what people like the most. Several of the boards above were made of scrap EPS I had laying around. I play around with rail shape a little with different board thickness as far as tapering the rail into the body. I have been sticking with a basic soft rail transitioning to a hard rail at the tail. Have been switching to a concave bottom for the front 1/3-1/2 of the board also. I'm in Maryland so the waves here are very inconsistent but tend to be smaller and mushier so I'm looking to make boards that catch everything. I'm also 200 lbs so more foam usually equals more fun. The newest batch of boards are 48-50 inches long and 22-24 wide. Similar to the one just above. Anyway, thanks for commenting.
