These guys are a Euro source for locally grown Paulownia, the sine qua non of wooden paipo materials.

It took me a while. This board has obviously had a hard life. You can see on the close-up how the darker hardwood has broken. The hardwood is glued into the whole.

Thanks for the pictures Bob,
I see, the piece of iron prevents the leash to chafe the wood, which is an issue on my basic hole system (I have to re apply varnish sometimes).
Nice shape by the way !

The dark material isn't iron - it's a hardwood disk glued into a hole made by a brad bit.
