Doing some "spring cleaning" in December, and came across my notebook (yes notebook) on Larry Goddard's work. Lots of design nuggets here, many of which I've mined and have implemented in my own designs (standing on the shoulder of giants...). The notions of board length as a function of rider height, aspect ratio as a function of rider height, the distinctive thin-nose-thick-tail foil are all Goddard's. I highly recommend reading and even re-reading the Goddard Interview if you have any interest in designing/building foam/fiberglass prone boards.

His drawings inspired most of my stuff, did you notice the name of the board you just modelled for me?

Since 2011, I have been experimenting with Larry's designs. He has shared a lifetime of design ideas, which are a treasure trove for those wanting to explore board design.

While my latest board (and the next one) differ from Larry's in some key ways (e.g foil with thickness distribution in the tail & tail width), his boards are the basic reference point which my design ideas are still revolving around.

So what's the latest idea Krusher?

Nothing new, just building a replica of my first board as it imploded! My skills neer pushed that board to its limit, so back to that and it up to me to get better and find its limits.
