Variations…

I’m fortunate to have customers that are both prone-riders and experimenters. My two pals from the Pacific Northwest contacted me recently, both asking for prone-board shapes differing from their CF G4s. Totally stoked with their G4s, they’re now looking for a little variety. These two boards couldn’t be any different. The first (board on the left) is a round-nose version of the G4...well, kinda. The bottom is G4 but the outline is fuller with a round nose for more planing area. A true grovel board, prone-rider style. With quad-fin boxes, this board can be surfed in a number of fin configurations including finless.

The irony of this shape is that its basically the original T-Belly outline with the G4 bottom. Ray worked out the problem of doing light tints on EPS, too!

Keith...check the "Variations...continued" thread for an initial report from the hull owner. We've had a major wave-drought here on the west coast since mid-July, so there has been little opportunity for any meaningful trials. I haven't had my new G5 in the water yet, and don't expect to until I return from Italy at the end of October. Of course, my being out of the country ensures that there will be great swell for the next 2 weeks!

I'm calling this shape the G-OneFour. Here's the latest ride report from the owner:

"Bon Journo Thomas,
Got out with Daryl on Saturday,4 yo 6 feet my board handled awesome!
Heading straight down the wave and didn't pearl.Took high trim and held
tight! Thank you for another awesome board! I appreciate your
craftsmanship and attention to detail! The color, pin stripe and glass job
is impeccable!...!"
