paipo choppy big waves, make it

There are ideas that pierce my brain. they only rest when they become reality, however crazy they may be. This is one of those. An authentic madness that would not let me rest.

It is a paipo designed for big waves on windy days with choppy seas.

its measurements are 47x15, the bow type keel has a maximum height of 6 inches with a width of 3

I have often wondered if a deep "V" combined with rocker in the nose area, transitioning to deep convex and then to flat, would me a solution.

Paipo surfer in repose,
Nose on the nose,
No grunting he-man pose.
See how fast he goes!
What is it he knows?

That's crazy, I like it
The huge V botom might generate a lot of drag and prevent the board to perform quick turns, but maybe that's not a big problem for the kind of waves you have in mind.
At least it should avoid side slipping !

I've done a lot of tests with different shapes, and you've turned out SheeeeIIIIItttttt, an elephant poop

simply this idea is not good, it was a thought that drilled my head, if or if I had to make and try different versions.

Today very very angry after so much effort, I came out of the water I took a big stone and I hit the keel with fiber and everything, I got into the water and I was able to enjoy some waves

so I do not recommend this idea, unless you have a radically different alternative

there are ideas that work, not others, it is the life of a stormy mind

I encourage everyone and keep creating

the idea is not to make a foil, I want to make a keel that stabilizes the paipo and does not jump so much.
yesterday with broken waves in a jump, falling into the water again I hit the table with the eggs, which hurt more horrible and could not stop, I was between 1.5 to 2m waves.
It was not a good experience. I have to design something to keep from flying

I would still lean towards a deep "V" nose hull, similar to a boat. As a matter of fact I would rely a lot on boat design. You still might skip a bit but nothing like a flat bottom or concave moving through or over cross chop.

One of the problems has been the excess of keel in the front, causes the table to overdraw. after reducing the breakwater keel this effect has diminished, it is more controllable

an effect that I have not been able to improve is the lack of grip of the edge of the board in the wave, part of the pressure generated by the board with the wave is distributed in the keel, this makes the song does not work as it should and it becomes the terribly unstable table is practically impossible to run a wave. the table does not have a solid support in the singing

On the other hand, the keel has a lift effect, a micro foil but totally unstable.

the result of this has been SheeeeIIIIItttttt like a grand piano, but I'm still convinced that there has to be a solution that my mind is not able to visualize, at least to this day. I encourage you all to continue investigating

Hola Asner,

I was recently in contact with Larry Goddard who made a distinction between skipping when you are going really fast (like a stone thrown in a lake) bouncing, when riding choppy waves. Combine the two and it is tough. His solution was to not ride windy waves and seek out smooth faces, with a twin fin to control the bounce.

When you write "table" it should be translated as "board". Table for English speakers is the equivalent of "la mesa del comedor".
