Ordered a board from Guy Butcher in the UK recently. Haven't gotten in the water yet planning on this weekend. Currently in Rods neighborhood not sure how he does it. It's 44'' by 21.25 lot's going on with it starts with some roll and then goes to a concave bottom that gets deeper going out the tail. here are some pics and hopefully a report next week.

Pez, yeah, we are a couple to a few hours from the coast from our triangle. At the turn of the century we had an active area surf club that was actively ride-sharing 7 days a week, watching for swell, and doing pretty well at it. A lot of us could rearrange our schedules to hit the swell during the week. Then the group kind of disintegrated due to evolving school, work, job changes (this really kicked in after the 2008 financial meltdown). I haven't surfed much down on the Delaware/Maryland coast the last several years, but spent a lot more time on surf-related travel--well, not nearly as much of that the past 3 years due to aging parents, a broken wrist and covid-19. Hope 2021 is more promising... I am running out of years!!!

I am in Rehobeth now and actually got a few waves today near a bridge. All were one hitters thats what I call setting your rail and maybe getting a turn in  been suprised how well it goes in such weak stuff. Got one wave in VB that I was expecting to side slip but the edge of this board is sharp so held in good. Going to be here for 2 more months and doing a trip down the west coast. Trying to avoid Texas as much as possible.

Hey Paul, I assume you were surfing Indian River Inlet, the big bridge over the inlet. Good to hear the wave is working for you. A paipo buddy might be going down to Hatteras in late-Sept or sometime during October. He might get a hotel room or a small cottage. Guess you will be traveling down the East Coast and driving West, sort of the I-40 corridor?

From what I have read you might want to take I-90 rather than I-80. I have traveled good distances on both. Both have elevation, but I-80 is known for its high winds on the Wyoming segment. Driving home from the paipo gathering a year ago, my wife and I were being chased by a huge storm--we probably made it by 12 hrs before the interstate gates being closed. This was in mid-October. We spent that first night in Fort Collins for some German beer brew pub visits (but also New Belgium), but hit the road the next morning at 4am with a huge tailwind behind us. Somewhere in Eastern Iowa we finally escaped it. However, the Wyoming section had 60+ mph winds and snow. Hope you can make the trip... N. Oregon has some beautiful coastal areas and there is a very special wave waiting for you in Seaside.
