New Blank

Unread post by nomastomas »

Anyone still hand-shaping prone-boards using polyurethane (PU) foam? In my effort to convert from EPS to PU core, I came across this new offering from Millennial Foam (millennialfoam.com). It's a blank designed for use in shaping wake surfboards, and it has the width and thickness needed for prone-boards, but at a minimal length to reduce waste and cost.

The 5-3 is $58, so the 5-0 would be a little less. http://stores.millenniumfoam.com/53-to-62-long-4/

Hey Thomas did you end up getting this blank? Thinking of shaping again and wondering what the customer service was like. Tried getting a blank from them before and took forever. Ended up getting one from US blanks instead.

Pes... While I haven't pulled the trigger on ordering a new blank, I've had great support from Millennium. The guy I worked with is Seth (seth.bishop@millenniumelastomers.com) I think they have worked out the kinks in logistics that may have plagued them earlier.

Plenty to work with... maybe too much rocker for my tastes but part of that could be mitigated by turning the board around before making cut lines.
