I thought I would start a seperate thread for this one, it may take a while but I will endeavour to keep this thread updated through the build process.
I started with a fairly analogue process of outline and template measurement and then transfer to full size template

small scale trace and measurement from an old Surfers journal article

I had an EPS blank from Shapers Australia I had cut up for a couple of other mini paipos, please note my intention is to build a mini paipo version of a flex spoon not a full sized knee board version, I mucked about with outlines a bit before settling on something that felt right.

They don't have a lot of float, but more than if just bodysurfing.
There was a Swaylocks thread on different construction methods.
A Peter Ware model
Is it going to be finned?

Great design for a 34 inch board would it still need finned? Would like to see them in surf action...

I am thinking of trying unfinned initially and can add fin(s) later, my initila thoughts are for low and long bonzer style runners close to each rail, but I will see how I go. I will post a couple of update shots when i get a chance

This looks great - hitting all my buttons. In regard to the fin, I thought the high aspect fin was a big part of how it was supposed to work. In my limited understanding I imagined there would be considerable tension between the the twist of the fin and the flexible front part of the board - the snap out of the turn. How would that work with no fin? Are your legs acting like the skeg? And that Peter Ware board looks !!!!
