Paipo from WWII 1940s

I recently came across this paipo board in an estate sale in near Philly. A lady that sold it to me said her father (Jimmy) served in WWII and had used it in Hawaii. All of my searches have come up pretty empty. Seems like finding an old Paipo board of this age is rare. I'm wondering if anyone on these forums can give me more info about them and possibly appraise it. From what the lady said, this is from one of the local woods in Hawaii but could be made up. There's a few nix and scratches but otherwise in pretty decent shape for 1940s surfer. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

Boards similar to that were fairly common in Hawaii, California and the UK back between the world wars.
I would guess it's made from redwood, far and away the most common wood used in surfboards in that era.
Not worth a lot of money unless it has some interesting provenance. Cool find tho'

If you really want a price Randy Rarick is probably the guy. He's on FB. Did the woman say when he used it in Hawaii? What does the bottom look like?

One of those sides is the bottom! Notice that each photo shows the lower handle on the left or right.
