Photo of my beaten up favorite prone riding board (left). The measurements are 5.8 x 24 x 3 1/2 "
Made from a older longboard that I cut and sealed up a bit. 5 min Epoxy and a good bathroom sealant/ adhesive; are my friends.
I named it a "Off road bodyboard Cruiser. So the rider is a Wave trucker. By the way I am 75.
The other day it was a messy rippy 5 feet wave. I got wave after wave. Lineup to shore. And basically had the 2 mile beach for myself.
I dont do tubes and 360 rolls. For that the board has far too much volumen, I think. Just Cruising.
I am in Portugal North Atlantic. It can be a bit hectic during winter. Then I don't paddle out.
My favourite spot is in front of a small beach café.
They make great Galao. And I have a piece of Almendra cake. After the surf.
I saw in this group a photo from a shaper in New Zealand. He makes boards about same dimensions, but 3 inch thick. For kneeboarding and prone riding. ( Photo with 3 white boards )
Now I am looking for a 26 inch old soft board. That I can cut and make board length more towards 5 feet. And maybee get some flippers. So far I only paddle with my hands. I have strong shoulders frm longboarding.
I started surfing 59 years of age. And have done about 2300 sessions. Averaging roughly 200 sessions a year. The last 2 years.

Those boards are Kneeon Kneeboards . Nick Hartigan is the shaper and he makes beautiful kneeboards and prone/bellyboards. Nice guy as well. Keep surfing forever.

Fantastic looking boards. And a great solution for older surfers like me, 75. And I started surfing at 59.
Strangely very little known about this size of belly boards here in my area. We have the typical Buggiboard. But not higher volumen belly boards . So I am stuck with my home made "uglies" for now.

First a thin layer of Epoxy. Then an sealant / glue type from the DIY store. A good quality one. I also use that sealant for placing fins. Fill up old holes.
