Looks like a sensible hand grab to me. The hand through the loop style can tear of fingers, hands and wrist something nasty.

thanks. I just put my hand on the blank and chizeled around it … over and on the under side ..the big bulb adds floatation too , I had no issues with it diving on me …
It saved me on tons of big drops and felt right in the hand

It was a 24 inch blank chunk so 23 1/2 inch ish
I kept tons of volume in the board and just tested in Oz for a month.. it kicked ass . Better than the oversized sponge I also brought..
