Where is everyone?
Hopefully out surfing!
I just wandered because as a new member here it does not seem to be a very active forum recently - is there something I'm missing
Anyway like I said I hope it's just because everyone is out catching waves!

Re: Where is everyone?
Activity around here comes in waves.........
Paipo surfer in repose,
Nose on the nose,
No grunting he-man pose.
See how fast he goes!
What is it he knows?

Show us a photo of your new board when you finish it. What are the dimensions of your current boards?

I've been lurking. Surf has been flat here for weeks. (The last wave was babbling about leash options.)

Re: Where is everyone?
I've had nothing much to say, have been a bit crook and not been surfing and avoiding the computer. On a more positive note Rod is formatting some new interviews (three with Spanish surfers have been completed and two with Kiwis are in the pipeline) and I have discussed some design ideas with a board manufacturer who wanted to experiment with bellyboards/paipos.
Hopefully there will be a bit of surfing in the Easter break when I escape down south.

Re: Where is everyone?
After 15 days in Costa Rica and an onslaught of tasks back on the home front it seems like I have become a near caveman. Not to mention Bob Green's unrelenting pressure to meet "deadlines." It would be nice returning to a daily walk routine especially with Spring breaking out on the USA Mid-Atlantic region.
Surf around these parts has been flat, flat, flat, so my local surf club bubbas tell me. They have become a real bitching and moaning bunch! Not that it matters much to me... my right ribcage injury around Day 10 of the Costa Rica trip probably has be out of the water for another two months. Nonetheless, I am off to SoCal in a week or two to resume my frantic surf museum magazine, booklet and book harvesting and then move on to the next phase of the magazine harvest.

Re: Where is everyone?
Sure will! The current boards are 4'5 (newer board)x 19.5" & 4'6 (the golden oldie) x 19". Surf local to me has been great for those that like some classic surf. Hot sunshine and 3ft clean with a light off-shore; it's just dropping off at the moment so I expect I'll be recovering from my 'sickness' and return to work Mondayjbw4600 wrote:Show us a photo of your new board when you finish it. Cornish-paipoman,
The fibgrelass paipo and your kneeboards - do they differ in design much?

[quote="rodndtube"] Not to mention Bob Green's unrelenting pressure to meet "deadlines." It would be nice returning to a daily walk routine especially with Spring breaking out on the USA Mid-Atlantic region.
The deadlines correspond with the handsome remuneration you receive for your efforts.
on a different note, I posted Mike's "medierannea" board photos to Joe Tabler to see if anyone can identify them.

Rod,
Ribcage injury? Sounds like my kind of trip.

Re: Where is everyone?
I was shooting for points but only managed a 1/4 twist before being pounded onto my board on my right side. The shame of it was that the howling Papagayo winds finally slacked off some during the last 5 days.Ted wrote:Rod,

Re: Where is everyone?
Not at all. I used to ride modern kneeboards (5-6ft shortboard style) until I tried an old 4ft spoon. Since then I've been using a smaller board which works well prone and on the knee.bgreen wrote:Cornish-paipoman,
