I have my theory but if anyone knows...

2 boards with identical rocket, plan shape, width:

1) Alaia shaped paipo w/ essentially tri-plane bottom (slightly rounded outer planes) and skinny square rails w/ sharp edges
2) Tuna type paipo w/ flat all the way across and similar concave in the middle with fat, bb type rails.

Riding same identical wave

Which one faster?

Which one better hold a line?

Which one easier to carve a turn?

Which one wider range of wave size/power will work in?

I am guessing the Tuna will hold and carve easier and the alaia will be considerably faster and probably about equal in wave range..

That's it. You can really see the V in the Tuna in those shots as in the video you posted on the other thread. So it really boils down to the difference in the rails, bb/vacuum track fat and beveled vs alaia knife skinny and square

Wegener would be he guy to answer you questions,but personally I would think hey would be very similar on all accounts.

There both designed for sand up riding (bu can be used prone.

In my opinion neither would be great for prone riding if you want to do turns.
