Wood Paipo
Ordered a paipo from Jarrett Liu who's member here. Here's some pics he sent to me the other night. It's 48"x22"x3/8th not sure what wood he uses maybe he'll chime in on here. As you can see this one has a concave deck. Can't wait to get this in the water.

Re: Wood Paipo
Saw this on his facebook page.
Will be interesting to see how you find it with that nose bowl in weaker waves.

Yeah We'll have to see. He has a guy in Florida that rides his boards there so I think I'll be ok. But won't know until I get it in the water.

Re: Wood Paipo
So got the board last Saturday and took it out Sunday morning in not so ideal conditions. It was about 1-2 and pretty weak but I caught about 3-4 for waves. Board felt so smooth going through the water and didn't have much problem catching waves considering. I think it has to do with how wide the tail is. My cork board is 19" wide at 12" up and this one is 19" wide at the tail. Should have some waves coming so we'll have to see how it goes in some juice Hers's some pics.

Re: Wood Paipo
Sunday I was out for an hour or so as with all these swells they get pretty hyped up. There was waves but not from the swell that is currently running further North. Got a few that were better than last week been kinda rough the last few weeks not getting in the water much just being out of rhythm with the ocean. Will have to see how the rest of the week goes. Thinking of taking a trip North for the holiday weekend most likely in the 805 haven't surfed around those parts in a while.

Aloha, these board are contoured to the person body size and weight. This particular board is a custom "spoon-shaped". Skeggless wood Papa Paepo'o board that can be surf in any size waves. Board respond to rider at any given time.

Board been going well for me only take out if there been a swell or a lower tide. Had a couple pics shot of me a few weeks ago, I'm working on riding it malolo style. I did get a wave that I rode that way and it felt so freeing, unreal feeling. Mahalo Jarret again maybe one day I can bring her home.

Re: Wood Paipo
Here's some pics from this weekend. My highlight was when I was paddling back out to the line up and a guy said "was that you riding without hands?"
This board has been what I've been riding pretty exclusively everyday. Took my cork board out last week cause I felt I was neglecting it . The foam TC is in Italy now with Bellyrider, we just didn't get along. But really just wasn't the feeling I was looking for and I know I found it on these thin boards. Do they take a little more work? Yes but the reward is worth it to me.

I like riding superman style, first because it is fun to do, second because it puts a smile on paddling out surfers who see you
