Aloha Bro I did this at the break wall on back wash. Sometimes I use it as a ramp for jumps. Not this time.

Yes it is dangerous. That's Surfing, we tend to stay away from others and find new places to surf away from the normal line up. Ive seen a few injury's in my 3 years of foiling and all were to foiler themselfs. The worst are the Electric foils we had a guy cut off 3 toes, another sliced off half a butt cheek. All because there moving so much faster. Top out about 45mph.

That's a Anderson Bi wing that I learned on. Now I fly a Naish rig I got off Craigs list here
The wings have blunt leading edges. Only the back of the wing is sharp. I did manage to kick my back wing with my shin and that was the first time in 3 years of riding it drew blood from a small cut. Whats really cool is the agility and speed is amazing. I can easily avoid anything in my way.

Let see if I can address some of your concerns. Yes Its a lot faster then my wood Pai`po's Its a Naish body board with Anderson bi wing foil. All my leading edges are rounded off so its safer then a surf board with its sharp skegs. The words Pai`po translate to "head first" so anything you ride laying down on is a Pai`po. Please don't be sad, it's just another way to have fun. ( Lots O FUN! ) I would do stand up foiling but I am crippled by arthritis and cant walk very well. I can still swim so I can still catch a wave, for now. At 66 Y/O I wont be able to keep this up much longer so I now have a boat that I can take friends out to Pier One and catch swells with. HELL YEA!
