I put a short video of fairly recent paipo gopro footage on Youtube. Fun waves, but the camera angle was off. I wish I had a chance to film (and surf) more often!

If anyone's interested, I can put the little bit of paipo footage from last year's Central Cal Paipo Gathering up as well. Let me know. Hope everyone is getting waves.

Paipo Gathering here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8HjRveev ... e=youtu.be

2nd try. The first one got immediately censored by the greedy record company. Disgusting!! Lets see what happens to this one.

Doc: I wasn't the one who mentioned the Thiesz board. Might have been James from up north.

pardon me Trev,.. you are right, and I'll redirect that question to James.
great little vid!
truly challenging conditions, but a good time was had by all.
we really do have good waves here, but this was not one of those times.,c'est la vie.
hey..what's the sound track..?
as an aficianado of all things Beefheart, I thought I pretty much knew it all, but this one escapes me.
I'm guessing from the "Tragic Band" era..or maybe "Mallard"
Surf On!

Dr. Robert: The music is a modified section of "Dirty Blue Gene" from the album "I May Be Hungry But I Sure 'Aint Weird". That album is a little more accessible to me, being a blues fan. Beefheart had some "harp" & quirky blues skills for sure. The original music I tried to use was "Jam" by Bad Brains. It was just an instrumental reggae filler track on the "Rock for Light" album; which fit the length of the vid perfectly. The record company censored that one on Youtube.

Doc Robert, That Thiez board is at the Coast Cafe in Bolinas, CA. I am still planning on going out there sometime take pictures of that board and other 3 boards. I don't go surfing very often there. It takes a lot of swell and from the right direction for it to be any good for paipo boarding.

It would be interesting to compare land and go pro footage to see what was going on. I find it hard at times to work out what is going on, but then, that may be a statement about lif ein general.

Try to get pics of the boards from several perspectives! And measurements, too, if possible.
