Re: pdf template
I don't think there's much out there in the way of alaia templates, especially in pdf.
I usually start from scratch using butcher paper, and a flexible batten aka drawing spline to find a pleasing shape. The batten can be a thin strip of wood or whatever works, I've even seen guys use a fishing rod blank.
Once you get the shape you want, the paper gets spray glued to a piece of doorskin or masonite, cut out the shape, true the edges and you have a permanent template.
Another thing you can do is find a straight on photo of a shape you like, copy it and then enlarge it with whatever method you have available.
Tombstone is easy. A portion of a circle for the nose and tapering straight lines to a narrower tail.
If you do find something, please post it up.

Paipo surfer in repose,
Nose on the nose,
No grunting he-man pose.
See how fast he goes!
What is it he knows?

If you want to pay money - http://www.surfinggreen.com.au/product/ ... df-manual/
You could get one of the longboard boards from here and just cut the nose off - http://www.blendingcurves.com/temps
You might find something on Swaylocks, though I did find this quote form Huie: "if ya gota copy ya cant shape? ferk off and get a job mowing lawns".
This guy might who posted t the forum a while ago might be able to draw you one up - http://mypaipoboards.org/forum3/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=415
There are also possibilities of getting an AKU shaper or boardcad file and tweaking it.

Re: pdf template
For my last two boards I used the mini Simmons outline on Blending Curves. Once I had it drawn out, it was pretty easy to lop a few inches off the bottom of the template and rework it. Likewise, it would be easy to make these designs wider or more narrow, as needed.

Re: pdf template
Uncle's way is the time-honored method. Everyone who builds surfcraft should know or learn how to do this. It works from paipos to longboards. I do it directly on the blank as demonstrated by John Carper in his now old shaping video. I saw Pat Curren do it directly on a door skin in the surf movie "Glass Love".
"This is a paipo site...isn't it?"

Re: pdf template
I usually do the butcher paper deal at the beginning because we always have a roll around and I haven't wasted a chunk of ply if I'm not perfectly happy with the design once it's laid out.

Re: pdf template
The original question focussed on the template. The issue of "Rails, concave, thickness etc" is a completely different question.
What sort of waves will you be riding? If it is Italy, unless you have a secret tube pit nearby an alaia/tombstone style board should be fine. If you oiled it and don't like the rails etc, you can continually reshape it (Soulgliders post was a good example of this). There are quite a few first time build threads on this site.
These type of boards don't need to be that complex. Thickness will in part be determined by how heavy you are.
