Surfer Dies at One My Main Spots

This happened at one of my regular spots. I have been out there many times when it was big and have had some close calls in thundering close outs. But it is very spectacular. When you get outside can see the waves breaking on the Potatoe Patch bar (which is 20 feet deep at its shallowist) outside the Golden Gate. For me big surf isn't really worth it anymore. I guess that I am really feeling my age. I might have to be out of surfing for awhile, until I get my knee fixed. I hope everyone stays safe. http://www.sfgate.com/bayarea/article/S ... 773539.php

Sometime there's safety in numbers, or at least it feels that way. It looks like the Bay Area Bodysurfing group is meeting at Cron/Rodeo on Saturday the 27th. A mix of bodysurfers, handplaners, and bodyboarders. I'm going to try to get my cork fish down there for people that want to ride it. Their facebook page is:
