You have to hand it to the guy he has caught some amazing waves over his lifetime but having to wear body armour to surf a wave is way past extreme. He hit rock bottom on each of his three waves. I bet the camera guy was stoked to swim out.
Willing to die to catch waves - he came close? Getting airlifted from where he was (Cliffs of Moher) is no mean feet, for the rescuers either.

Yeah, I think sometimes these guys get "bored" and need to challenge themselves. Look at some of the guys that were towing into Chopes or Cortez Bank and now within the last few years they've moved back to paddle in those waves.

its interesting he was so captivated by that wave, there are several other slabs in that area very similar super hollow waves but makable, that ones just all wrong and it looks like the tide never gets high enough for it to work, maybe global warmimg will help it.
