I think this is about as thin as I should go. It's fast and easy to turn. I've ridden it twice & prefer it without fins.

Very nice! I love the S-deck! Did you shape it?

No, I've made a couple of wooden boards. Here are two photos of the thicker predecessor of the above board.

Both boards were made by Chris Garrett (aka Phantom) -

My avatar is of a wave west of you. Do you ride a paipo? I know of a guy on PI who does and Kid makes a a variety of wooden boards around Torquay.

Hi Bob, SlickWilly is the Kid reborn!
I've been away so long I thought I needed a new moniker to celebrate my return to gutsliding!

BJ,
Are you in Melbourne now? I've been meaning to ask whether you are you still interested in the board with handlebars project? There's an interview coming up with Paul Witzig who rides a modern fibreglass version. Hope to get it posted up soon. Have also been doing research into the French planky and Spanish txampero - versions of the UK style bellyboard.

When are we gonna get to see some vids of your deep barrels Mike?
Paipo surfer in repose,
Nose on the nose,
No grunting he-man pose.
See how fast he goes!
What is it he knows?

Handles on a paipo are worth a thread in itself. In the update to Robert Moynier's interview, he elaborates on his experience riding paipo with a handgrip.
