is it possible that paipos are and have been being mass produced for the past 15 years? and right under our noses?

Several years ago on the old forum Poobah had suggested to me using a skimboard as a means to beat airline costs.

I have to give it to this guy though - he must have taken some punishment to be able to now surf these waves the way he does. The need for a jet ski reduces the vaiability for most. Flippers would let you ride one prone but you wouldn't get the speed assisted takeoff. Still impressive.

That guy is talented. The riding style is very paipo-like except for the hop turns. I especially like the nose-up sideways carving that would not be possible with skegs.
