Who would have guessed a direct correlation between driving a squareback and riding a paipo!

Ca. Summer of 1967, country of Carolina, Puerto Rico, with my first board on top. Ready for the drive to La Pared, Luquillo, PR, for a surf session. I was a learning surfer. That is a 9'4" Hobie Noserider strapped on top, my first board. Two years later I owned a VW Bug but had a choice or running it into a huge old monster winged Chevy or over a 100 ft cliff on a curving mountain road in PR when the brakes failed. Bought it for $100 and sold it for $100. My surf buggy of choice these days is a minivan: Astro MiniVan (nice, but a real lemon), Dodge GrandCaravan (serviced me well), and currently a Honda Odyssey.
