Unyielding Sliver of Wood Yields Great Results!

I just got back from my first surf with the new twin fin.
Although conditions were not optimum I just couldn't stand to wait any longer.....
Surf was about chest high and not to crow too loudly, but I couldn't be happier with how well the board works. :D
It took me a couple waves to get it figured out, but by the end of the session I was about as stoked as I get.
It catches waves well, duck dives easily and is much faster than I had anticipated.
On one of the better set waves I was in perfect position and caught it, but then had to make a course change to avoid traffic which put me way behind the curl back in the foam; however with a tip of the rail and a good kick, I shot back out in front of the wave and pulled right up into a nice little barrel.

STOKED!

Very nice looking board. What are the dimensions on it? Is that mostly paulownia wood? Get some more waves this weekend, it is supposed to be picking up!

I have to be honest, that picture was taken in the studio at the Surfing Heritage Foundation several days ago, before I'd ridden the board.
I was gloating a bit as I'd just been showing it for the first time to the SHF crew and they seemed pretty stoked with it.
The little gal who's our archivist had just asked if I'd make her one.

I took Geoff's suggestion to heart and rode the board this morning in small but punchy surf about waist high.
It's a keeper all the way around. :D

The story behind that nickname is surf related, but it's a long one and somewhat of a misnomer;
To many of my Mexican friends I am known as Señor Feliz. ;)

Just looking at pics of the board I had a feeling it would go really really well in almost anything you would ever ride a paipo in! Happy to hear it 1st hand.
