On
Sept. 13, 2008, I stopped by Austin's shop on the way to Cape Hatteras
to drop off a friend's longboard for some ding repair work and was
amazed to see so many paipos on the glassing and ready-to-ship
racks. I must have counted about a dozen boards ready to be glassed, in
the process of glassing, or ready to ship. Austin later told me that
several boards were in the shaping room as well. In the 15 months since
Austin and I talked paipo design and he built and delivered that first
Austin paipo he has taken orders for about 80 paipos, mostly using the
R2 template ("Orange Matter").
Several of the orders on the ready to ship racks below are destined to
Rhode Island and Maine, but other orders have been from up and down the
East Coast, the Gulf Coast, California and the Pacific North West, and
Europe. The next step is to work on a paipo fish design :) |

These boards were all done with pigment and no airbrush. Disreguard Austin's reflection in the pictures. I guess that means they are pretty shiny! |
