Hmmm, prone jet ski. At least jet skis have redeeming quality of being able to do rescue in heavy surf.
These I think just plain nasty bit of business!

Paipo surfer in repose,
Nose on the nose,
No grunting he-man pose.
See how fast he goes!
What is it he knows?

Re: It's prone but not a paipo
Looks like fun for what they were showing, and I think that might be a lot of fun for "flying" underwater...I could see that low in kelp beds, for instance. Can't imagine it wouldn't be loud though, and I'd hate that at least on the surface. Unacceptable in the surf zone. In the extreme. Zero tolerance. It's only been a few decades since the advent of jet skis and I' not sure I'm over that yet...

The underwater dimension would be an interesting one but in addition to the emissions etc, this is at the opposite extreme of the easily accessible/affordable piece of wood you can plane on. Such craft would be pretty much the exclusive domain of the well-off.

If it is not now, could be made electric-->almost silent and near zero emissions

Re: It's prone but not a paipo
damn with that price tag i'll let you figure out the math on how many custom made paipo's you can have built by top shapers
or how many you can build yourself by buying top material
Additionally what kind of exercise can you get by getting dragged in the water by a machine

This is a well-known solid French Beachbreak. It must have been a nightmare trying to get these things through the line-up.
What do you call a 7 fin floater? Amazing how those things took the drop.
Unlikely to catch on but pretty insane stuff all the same.
